Stalling playback of clips, live view is smooth

I'm getting started with Blue Iris and waiting for a camera to test with so I'm using some reasonably decent public feeds I've found to satiate me until it arrives for some real testing...

I've noticed something on all of my feeds, the live feed is smooth and fine but the recorded clips pause every second of recorded video. The timeline actually progresses during these pauses so it's almost as if it's recording the pauses. Ideas on the issue?

I've also been unable to get Intel Quick Sync verified to be functioning... I see the GPU in Task Manager but no encode/decode activity hits it (Nor my nVidia 1080) and task manager never shows Blue Iris using a GPU (Intel i9-9900k system)

Your on the right track with the recording.
What type of recording are you doing? Direct-2-disc, Encoding?
