I just discovered in 'Disk Management', the options 'New Spanned Volume' and 'New Striped Volume'.

Defined 1 striped 4tb volume with 2 2tb hhd's Copied several gig of data to it. Works awesome.

Well, works, but TRIM is not supported for SSD's.

I like to keep things simple, not as complex as the OP but I have 2 drives in my BI PC. I’ve just set them up within Storage, no age limit. I then have some cams recording to 1 drive and the rest recording to the 2nd.

I don’t move clips around between drives on the same machine as really there is no point and during the move you’ll just be adding extra load to the machine.

The only thing to consider is that the storage option, the 3rd item which is normally Alerts is a special item and that cannot be used to recordings, all the others can be used/configured as you want.

I don’t use any options in Windows to span disks as I’d rather keep them as standard which will allow you in the worst case to move the disk to another machine and get access to the files.
