After update, CPU usage much higher than before

Normal CPU usage on my system has always been about 25% to 35%.

I updated to 5.2.0.5 and now see my CPU usage is now constantly hovering around 45% or so. No other changes were made, just the update.

Anyone else seeing this?

I don't think 5.2.0.5 was too bad for me, my CPU usage went down a bit, but the 5.2.1.0 update has sent it right up.
I have forund that the more updates it has steadily gone up, i used to be on 45% at some point and it is now 65% or more,
i have added 2 cameras though but can't see them making that amount of difference.

How does it compare when the console is open and minimized/closed?

does not seem to make any noticable difference if i have the console open or not, maybe 5% less

I'm not running it as a service so maybe this doesn't apply, but between full screen and minimized I see maybe a couple of percent difference at best. Sometimes it's actually a little lower when open.

5.2.1.0 here, and all is normal.

i have the same problem! Normal CPU usage on my system has always been about 40-50%,
i have 16 cameras and if i run full screen after update to v5.2.1.0 my CPU usage is 90-98% constant.
And i just updated the software

Hi, Im new here and I was having the same issue. Very fast hardware, direct to disc selected and still 92 % cpu usage with only 8 4k cameras using h265. I found the solution for me anyway after messing around with settings for a while. In camera settings under video tab, check the "limit decoding unless required" this dropped my cpu usage to 10% all cameras recording 30 FPS and no dropped frames......hope that helps
