Yet again I have a camera that is no longer flagging alerts. I have emailed the support email and got a response to setup TeamViewer and email the login info with the password set to permanent so it won't change. You really expect someone to send via unsecure email complete login info with no time restrictions? I guess that security is not an issue even though BI is mainly for security. I really want to work with you to resolve this problem but cannot leave my system open to the world. How can we setup a time where we can both be on the system together to look into this issue?

This is a user forum,. BI may read these, but do not reply via the forum.

In the past I've setup a special BI User ID for support. I enable it when I know they will remote in. Send them a response that you'll setup an ID for them and enable it during the period they say they will remote in. You can even have it push you notifications when that userid logs in/out so that you know.

The think about TV is that they would have access to your desktop, not just BI. That I don't like - not that they would do anything... but still.
They may want to use TV to check other things than BI, like your system.

I’ve also noticed something similar on my system but for me it only seems to affect 2 of my cams. Both are Dahua 5442T, one is a fixed lens, the other a ZE. Both are setup for external triggers via ONVIF with no BI motion detection enabled. Both cams are also cloned with the cloned cams setup with BI motion detection.

Wondering if there’s any similarity with others that have seen this issue?

A restart of the BI service and all is good, I now tend to check everyday to see if the postman has triggered an alert so that I can easily spot when alerts aren’t being raised.

In terms of giving remote access to support, only you can decide if you’re happy with doing this. Me personally, I’d have no issues with doing this for the reasons below.

BI doesn’t have an official list of cams that it supports and PC configuration that you run it on, this presents a huge issue as in essence everybody’s config will be unique. Quite a few people have given support remote access to troubleshoot issues.

If support can’t reproduce the issue then it’s very difficult to pin point the cause of the issue and therefore implement a fix.

Debugging the issue on an affected system will likely be the quickest way to identify and fix the issue.

Remember you can always uninstall/disable TW when support have finished.

I did a repair DB and it fixed my issues of items not showing in the clip list. Hope that helps others.

I have 10 cameras and only a couple are failing intermittently to trigger.

All of my cameras are configured to share the first camera's values for Trigger/Record/Alerts, so I know the majority of the configuration is the same for every camera.

When I manually trigger cameras, some of the cameras (2 of 10) will intermittently create a clip file,
but BI never finishes writing the file.

The clip files appear orange in the Clips window.

The clip files can't be opened: "Sorry there is no file to open" or "Source File Format is corrupt".

The clip files cant be deleted because the file is opened by BI.

If I manually restart the camera, BI deletes the clip file or leaves a corrupt image file 1K in length. The contents appear to be the start of the video.

BI should never leave a clip file open once BI has finished writing the clip file, but it does.

I noticed yellow warning ⚠️ icons on several cameras.
I tried setting the FPS lower to fix, but some cameras appear to not to be able to support 2 FPS! Most my cameras are fine at 10 FPS. BI needs to provide more information about the warning and how to fix it.

My file system is an SSD with gigs of free space.

The impact of this bug is that some cameras will never trigger an event. So frustrating. This is an obvious BI software bug.

If I manually select a stuck camera and ask BI to record a clip on the stuck camera, it fixes the problem.

My install is behind a second firewall that has no internet access. I have no way to share a remote access login.

I have configured BI to rebuild my database nightly, so doubt that has anything to do with my problem.

I would start with the basics. Are the cameras sending the most compatible format ? i.e H264 with no plus or enhancements. Move on from there to keyframes. What do they look like in the staus page ? Finally are you saving d2d with bvr or something else ?

I just experienced this issue myself. I thought I was going crazy, but the issue started right before my eyes. I was viewing cameras with UI3 from a separate Windows PC, switching between my front yard camera and my garage camera, watching my son leave for work. After watching the garage door close I went to the front yard camera and watched him drive away. A few seconds later a different car drove by setting off an alert as well. I then started looking at clips on the left side panel and noticed the clip of my son leaving from the front yard camera was missing. Started flipping around the cameras and no matter what I did that clip was not showing up. It was then I noticed that every trigger event from the front yard camera was no longer creating alerts. I simply could not understand what was going on or what happened. Went directly to the BI console and found the same thing - that clip was missing and all subsequent triggers were not generating alerts from the front yard camera. Nothing was changed or had changed regarding the camera configuration. I took the advice from a previous post in this thread and deleted the front yard camera and then recreated it and added it back. Alerts started working again. I do not use Deepstack or any other AI addon - just the native Blue Iris triggering and alerting.

This is disturbing to say the least. I am now wondering whether I have other camera that may be exhibiting the same issue and will be going through them with a fine tooth comb looking for the same or similar symptoms.

The one thing I can say for sure is that this issue started when viewing the cameras and alerts with the UI3 interface from a different PC, so I can't help but wonder if that interaction with the BI server may have a bug in it of some sort. My BI server version is 5.6.8.4

P.S. - unlike the original post to this thread, after the problem started, subsequent triggers did not post alert clips on the hard drive of the BI server. This is what is disturbing to me - the thought that if I wasn't watching closely or simply believing the BI server was doing its job correctly events would go completely missing without my knowledge. As such I am now leery of BI's ability to do what it's intended to do.

I'm seeing this as well with certain cameras... 3 cameras are not triggering correctly in certain situations. Motion goes off, no alert. When an alert does go off, AI is acting weird with odd time stamps.
