Just made an account here to say I am having the same issue re: disconnecting in BI occasionally. I don't have disconnects in the native Reolink app or in the web browser view for the camera (connecting to it directly).

An update a couple weeks later: The same issue seemed to persist for a long while. Just yesterday I decided to try a different stream type, and so far it looks stable.

Note that I am new to BI and its plethora of settings / options / etc and I don't really know why one choice here would be good or bad. But it seems like this is working better than the previous!

the change was from

Make: `Generic/ONVIF`
Model: `RTSP H.264/H.265/MPEG/MPEG4`

to

Make:`ReoLink`
Model: `H.264 RTSP`

I also happened to change the top option from `http://` paired with port `:443` to `https://` with no port, but that should mean the same thing.

It also looks like "decoder compatibility mode" switched from off -> on, but I don't remember doing that. YMMV hah.

Keep posting guys, it's the only way we will learn. It is still "Notify" for this device in the UK, so I think I will give up.

One last update for now, this setting change I made seems to have fully resolved the issues I was having with the PoE doorbell. It has not disconnected once since, fully stable/etc. Woo!

The Foscam will do that, you can either tap off the doorbell itself or put a sensor across the bell/chime connections. It'll ring a regular doorbell no problem so getting a signal from it should be no problem.

I don't know why everyone is so eager to get the Reolink, but I can vouch for the Foscam being a decent bit of kit.

STILL not available in the UK, so today I'm looking at the Foscam. Does it have an Alexa skill so it can "ring" on my echo dots ? I'll go and find the manual.

I even spotted a (new?) Ring doorbell camera that goes through the door peephole. Battery only though, so no 24/7 surveillance there. No video feeds either I guess, so not a lot of use for BI5. Apparently it can "ring" the echo dots though. I do like that this Ring and the Reolink both convert somebody knocking on the door as an alternative to pressing the button. That's a good idea.

Response from Foscam:
Unfortunately not through an Alexa device. You can have the sound come through your phone or tablet and by using the FOSCAM wireless smart chime.

A lot of people down Reolink but I am considering their doorbell for my Blue Iris system. I started with one of their 2k cameras a few years back and had zero problems. I recently started upgrading cameras to 4k and the price to performance ratio was good. I found some settings and performance tweaks that made them run right. Honestly, I think part of the problem was the number of pixels that were getting pushed around at a time. The substream motion detection helped A LOT. However, I am still trying to set up object detection in BI. I did also purchase one of the Reolink 4K NVRs as a backup since it sends person and vehicle detection data to them and seems to be solid.

How well does the reolink doorbell push notices work for you all? Have you found a good way to use the BI app to communicate or do you just use the reolink app for that?

Finally, I am using a few of their tracking cameras and they are nice too. I am yet to presently hook up my two Traxmax cameras. I will be interested in how the two channels communicate with Blue Iris VS Reolink. Bottom line I purchased a used R730xd server with 2.5 inch slots and a MD1200 3.5 bay JBOD used off ebay. My intent is to merge my R410 Blue Iris NVR and R510 NAS into a VM to save on electricity and add PCIe NVME functionality. I am going to keep my R410 as a remote backup bootable by iDrac. Then sell the R510 and the R720xd I have been parting together that was supposed to do the same thing. Now I can actually use a GPU for Blue Iris and Plex. Please share which GPU related add on things you use with the doorbell because that will be next for me.

TrackMix has two cameras, as you know. The wide angle 4K sends two streams, main stream h265, substream h264. The URLs are standard ReoLink H.265 RTSP choice available in BI (main stream /, substream /Preview_01_sub. The tracking camera is a 1080p, h264, 20 fps only and is not configurable at all (you can't change rate, fps or resolution). It does not have a substream, and the URL for the main stream is /Preview_01_autotrack. Both cameras, at least in my BI setup, are only able to maintain a low bandwidth; at 15 fps, wide angle 4k: 250-300 kBps; substream: 33 kBps; tracking camera: 50 kBps (always at 20 fps), no matter the settings. When triggered, the tracking camera stutters, drops frames but is still useful, even though the moving subject is jerky.

PTZ works well enough with BI, and works well to be pointed to certain presets by other cameras, if needed. I haven't tried the camera's own tracking.

Good to know. The Reolink NVR blends the two. I have a 823A in my backyard that is awesome and I love the spotlight feature. I am hoping I will be as happy with the Tracks mix. I actually think the ability to see the 4K and 1080p zoomed footage will be good.

Anyone else mess with the doorbell? I am interested because I need to do a bunch of wiring. I could stay with the 24v the original one had or go to POE.

The reason I say that is I recently decided while putting together my R730xd that I need to put the rack in the unfinished area behind my attached garage. The plan was to finish it but since I am also refinishing the bathroom between that room and an area in the house between the first / second floor used for ductwork when I originally had a single heat pump for the entire house. Now is the time to run ethernet and fiber. Plus install conduits. It would not be a big deal to run some ethernet cables to the doors.

That was the answer I was looking for! THANKS A BUNCH!

I just received the POE DoorBell after pre-ordering for nearly 4 months....

And after nearly a week with it, and learning about the “Baichuan” protocol, and how I kept continually getting forced to the sub-stream and all the drop-outs....
I "THINK" I got a working solution that seems pretty solid...

This article is what made it happen for me...
https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/ar ... dia-Player

*Note (H265=main, H264-sub)":

"If your model is 8mp/12mp model, then

Main Stream: rtsp://admin:111111@192.168.0.110:554/h265Preview_01_main

Sub Stream: rtsp://admin:111111@192.168.0.110:554/h264Preview_01_sub
"

This is 5mp model, yet the rules seem to still be at play...

I also used the decoder compatibility mode, and left the default stream settings within the doorbell itself... I tried to raise the bit-rate, and had audio issues...
