Overallocated Disk Space

Post by smclagan »

Is anyone else suddenly getting an overallocated disk error? After months without problems, and no setting changes, I am.

I have a 480GB SSD dedicated to new clips and alerts. New capped at 400GB and alerts at 25GB. When quotas are reached files are moved to another drive.

Suddenly, with no change to settings, the drive shows as overallocated in the storage bar chart.

Repairing DB does not help.

I've just had this with v5.8.0.16. It has now updated to v5.8.1.0 which immediately sorted the drives out. It does mention "storage drive folder classifications" in the update text, but 0.16 is shown to be the previous stable version :?

Are you sure that you have 5.8.1.0 as the BI updates website details the download as being 5.8.0.1 but you actually get 5.8.0.16 coming down?

The website still shows 5.8.1.0 as an available update but even this morning it brings down 5.8.0.16

I wish Ken and his team would also show changes with each release rather than the big mad long list.

The site also needs to have stable releases as downloads so people who accidentally update beyond their support can help themselves?

I'm back to v5.8.0.16 and it is presently repairing itself. I'll send Ken a message.

Don't forget that I do this so you can all have a good laugh :!: Don't try this at home

Watching storage graphs like a hawk...

And it has successfully moved files from NEW when it reached the limit quite a few times now. Looking good with v5.8.1.1.

Yup...v. 5.8.1.1 seems to have fixed it.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one.
