Importing clips into BI

Post by lelik7605 » Mon Apr 26, 2021 10:29 pm

I am having trouble importing some external clips into BI.

The goal is to have my old recordings accessible via BI UI, in one of the AUX folders.

For years I was running another system (zoneminder), and would like to import clips from there into BI. I can convert my old recordings into anything. Assuming this would be an easy task, I've converted clips into pretty standard h.264 main profile in mp4 container and put clips into one of the AUX folders. Naturally codecs are installed and any DS player displays clips correctly - except BI. It displays some crappy time for most clips.

Tried rebuilding the DB dozen of times - still, clip lenghts are bogus and BI interface does not display them properly.

Everything else does, DS-based players included.

Here is an example, a 5-second video properly renamed according to BI scheme. When put into AUX folders it is recognized by BI, but can't be displayed. - https://mega.nz/file/SCwjRQSQ#yslNt1uGH ... apzIUknIk0

Thanks!

Bi uses a proprietary format for recordings as far as I know, you can export clips but don’t think there’s an option to import.

Just keep the clips separate, I normally export clips and then copy them over to my NAS for clips I want to keep.
