reinstallation of BI5 on new computer

Post by zsylvainz » Tue Feb 07, 2023 6:30 am

I just reinstalled bi5 on a new computer with my licence key credentials but all my camera have "Blue Iris Evaluation version" on it. Is there anyway to get rid of the evaluation bc I did buy that licence key a few yrs back.

Thank you

The licence key usually gives you 12 months of updates, so you could obtain a version from that time and it should work.
If you want to try the latest versions with the artificial intelligence, then you will need to get an annual Support plan, which again gives you 12 months of updates.

not sure I understand. I installed BI5 on the new computer with the same key that used to work on my old compter. I did not have an annual support plan installed on my previous computer and it was working just fine. Are you saying I need to buy either a new licence or a support plan just bc I changed my BI5 from one compûter to another ?
Thank you

Hi, I'm saying - for example - if you purchased your licence on the 1st Jan 2020 that you can install any version from the following 12 month period. If you install a version after that period it will be in demo mode. So if you had kept a copy of the installer for the version you were previously running, it would still work.
You don't need a new licence, but to install a 2023 version of BI5 you will need a Support plan. It's half the price of a licence, and gives you another 12 months of updates. Or you could search for an older version that your licence covers.

I just checked, and it's $34.95 for the basic one-off one year support plan - click here for details.

I don't know. But if you know when you purchased BI5 you could figure it out.
