Re: Problem with corrupted converted/exported files

Thank you very much for the reply. I got all tingly when you mentioned Nvidia acceleration - I had mine set always but unchecked it hoping. . . no help tho Here is a screen shot of the convert/export window that just failed - the progress bar just stopped where you see it: config_screen.PNG export_c...

Problem with corrupted converted/exported files

This has happened before. When I try to convert/export to MP4 format the exported file is corrupt. I can tell if its going to be corrupt by watching the green 'working' timeline on the conversion screen. If it goes all the way to end the exported file is fine. If it closes that screen before it reac...

Re: Critter Cams

Hi Raccoontodd - nice images :)

I have an Amcrest PTZ mounted on a tree in the woods for catching critter clips. Last night I snagged my 1st bear. I am adding IR illuminators to really light up my area of interest and eliminate the 'white walker' eye look. What are you using to light up your area?

Re: Using dedicated Network Card / Adapter to isolate cameras from Internet?

This may not help if you are set on a 2nd network card but it lets you what other options there are.

I'm using a Ubiquiti system here and its very easy to deny internet access to any individual client or group of clients by creating a 'rule'.

Re: Qucik Poll: Your everyday PC?

In have a 2tb NVMe SSD as my primary storage and 2 6tb spinning disks onboard. I backup to a Synology 12 bay NAS currently populated with 8 10tb WD Reds. W...

Re: May want to leave Synology

fwiw. . . I also started using my Synology for my 1st 2 cameras. Eventually I started using BI on my desktop - concurrently with Surveillance Station. When I added 2 additional cameras (and am about to add 3 more) I pretty much committed to BI. I just turned off Surveillance Station yesterday. I fou...

Re: Looking for camera / lighting suggestions

Thank you very much - I'm really getting psyched to do this now that the leaves are all off the trees and the local wildlife is easy to see. I have the spider issues with my 2 bullet cameras and plan on turning off the in camera IR and installing several separate lights to illuminate roughly a 50X50...

Looking for camera / lighting suggestions

We live pretty much in the woods with plenty of assorted wildlife around. I would like to run 2 cat 5 (or 6) cables as well as a low voltage pair out to a couple of trees. I created a clearing of sorts near where we have foxes den every year. I want to focus, no pun intended, on the clearing as its ...
