Re: switching between cameras while using timeline view?

Mike, many many big Thanks! :D :D :D BI has some good features, but being intuitive to figure out is not one of them! so about 99% of my problem is I never would have guessed to press escape to leave "edit" mode (why was i even in edit mode i don't know, my method was always to just double...

Re: database regeneration gives "could not obtain exclusive DB Access"

after rebooting the computer i tried the "rebuild DB" button again. This time it seems to be working, but it says regenerating 5549 files, even though there's less than 500 files in the BlueIris folders. When it says "files" does it not mean physical files? 1-29-2020 8-18-26 PM.j...

database regeneration gives "could not obtain exclusive DB Access"

on the clip-storage status tab i clicked "Repair DB", and then this showed up in the messages. What could be causing this?

switching between cameras while using timeline view?

theres got to be a way to do this, i'm just not seeing it? so I'm watching a recording in the console with the timeline viewer open at the bottom (all my cams are set to continuous record). I'm watching the front door cam, and it shows at exactly noon the mailman leaves the front door and walks to t...

Re: sporadic high RAM usuage - FIXED!

My troubles with hard-drive corruption and memory problems started when I simultaneously upgraded my PC hardware and also went from BI 4 to BI 5. At that time I did a settings export from BL 4 and then re-imported it on my fresh install of BI 5. Maybe something got corrupted when i did the re-import...

Re: OOps - Need a Clean Start - How ?

i just went through this myself. I uninstalled BI, deleted its folder from ProgramFiles, and THEN opened up registry editor and deleted everything in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Perspective Software\Blue Iris.

the registry is where all the config is stored apparently.

Re: sporadic high RAM usuage

I increased allotted storage space to 850 GB (on a 2TB harddrive) and once it reached it the same thing happened as before (RAM usage went up, and very slow response). Here are screenshots of disk usuage status before and after trying to "repair DB" (didnt work). whats going on? clips1.jpg...

Re: do I have Clip/archiving setup correctly? harddrive keeps locking up...

thats a good idea, to check the log *slaps forehead* heres the clip status. aaand of course, its already reached the 480 gig limit and my system is working just fine! The one thing that is different now is i had lowered the limit to 480G. Previously, when i noticed the problems, I had it around 1.8T...

do I have Clip/archiving setup correctly? harddrive keeps locking up...

ever since upgrading to v5, i've been having my 2nd internal harddrive (used just for BI storage) lock up. I usually have to re-format it and then its good. I've replaced the harddrive 2 times now, and the problem still occurs, so i doubt its a hardware problem. I finally isolated the problem: the p...

Re: sporadic high RAM usuage

i'm using a nvidea video card, so no intel drivers. but actually i discovered that the high RAM usage was corresponding to a problem with writing to the 2nd harddisk in my PC (which is used just for BlueIris storage). BlueIRis starts using the RAM to buffer the video that can't get written to the di...
