Re: Are there any wired IP doorbell cameras?

I've come close to going for the DS-KB8112-IM, however 720p seems underwhelming and it doesn't really cover enough vertical field of view (for me a doorbell camera needs to cover height, not width). I hear you- there's very little out there. I've been thinking of building my own, as there are plent...

Re: Question about Windows10 Update 21H1

It's funny you should mention 21H1, I just used the MSMG Toolkit to make a stripped down Win 10 ISO to install on my soon-to-be-refreshed BI box. I took out allllll the crap- Cortana, all the XBox junk, telemetry, all the OOBE crap, the User Experience garbage, and a ton of other stuff. The install ...

Are there any wired IP doorbell cameras?

I'm looking for an ethernet-connected doorbell cam, but every "doorbell" camera I can find is wifi only. Some have an ethernet connector on the back, but that seems to be for PoE, not a network connection (and you have to use a PoE injector, which they usually supply). Are there any doorbe...

Re: FORCE quitting CGad Socket thread

It's set to "No". I'm wondering if it's a hardware issue with the camera, but honestly I can't see what effect it has, if any. Maybe it's either the result or the cause of the many many disconnects this camera exhibits. Is it set to no or Default? If default then it will be using what is d...

Re: FORCE quitting CGad Socket thread

Hmmm, interesting- HA isn't even enabled for that camera. Maybe I should try enabling it. (??) Whenever the error occurred I'd check the cam settings in BI and I noticed that on some occasions BI would disable HA. I reported the issue back them to support and was told to disable HA. So, if HA is ena...

Re: Replacement for Reolink Cameras

I personally wouldn't advise anybody to go there. I was banned from ipscamstalks by blunderman for helping somebody here with camera firmware. I second the motion. I was banned for daring to question some minor point he was nattering on about. Many people say that Blunderman has a short fuse and is...

Re: Send email alerts but without going to "sent"? [Solved]

I've found variations of this suggestion on several sites but I don't know if it works. Create a Filter in Gmail with the settings: add "in:sent" (without quotation marks) in the field for matching words and set the "Action" to "Delete". Make sure you match some key wor...

Re: Bad Switch?

Hey Thixotropic, are you up and running again ? I have the new switch but haven't taken the time to swap it. It's a 5-minute job but I have a condition called Incipiente pigritia (incipient laziness) and my doctor says there is no cure. I'll probably get to it later today. Or tomorrow. Also, I've d...

Re: 5.4.5.0 - Memory Leak? 5.4.4.8 & 5.4.5.1 okay

Yes, I saw this same thing. I turned on the monitor in the morning and BI had crashed back to the desktop. I'd never seen that before so I figured it was some one-off glitch in Windows. I updated Windows and rebooted. When BI came up it had the update message showing so I updated it. So far so good....

Re: Ever heard of "IVC" cameras?

Sounds to me like a $35-55 camera at a higher proce. Will all that chrome, it's got to be good! Yeah, shinier is always better except when it comes to camouflage. I once saw a government-owned Royal Cambodian Army camo truck in Cambodia that had a brilliant gloss finish. I took a pic because I didn...
