Re: Total Cost Of Running Blue Iris

So technically no, after the first initial purchase of Blue Iris, thats all that is needed. The method to enable remote access can vary (multiple options) but none of them have to require a cost (other than standard internet service). There is an annual license renewal required IF you want access to...

Re: cameras config file?

Yes the parameters are kept in the registry. If you've done recent upgrades, BI could/should have made backup registry files for your config. My auto-export settings are definitely configured but I'm not sure if they are by default or not. Mine are stored here: C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5\autoexport

Re: Config cams in BI or cams at their GUI or BOTH?

Yeah the way I would recommend is to config the cam stream on the cameras themselves (you cannot set these properties in BI, it just reports what its getting). Settings like FPS, keyframes, compression methods, etc are done here. I believe you CAN use the built in camera detection capabilities but I...

Re: Newbie Question

Agree although I think it's partly because by default you aren't notified when there is a response. You have to manually request a Notify of reply

Re: Using a tethered phone for Blue Iris network connection

I know with Chrome Remote Desktop you have to add the 'App' from within Chrome. When you enable remote connections you establish a PIN. Thats the only configuration on the "remote" computer. Them from the installed 'App' on your controlled machine you select which computer you want to conn...

Re: Dell PowerEdge T40 server

I haven't tried that specifically but am using server hardware now and am completely happy. Back in the day I used a Dell tower server for a business (not NVR) need and was pretty happy with the build and cost - though I wasn't paying. That sounds like plenty of CPU power and the option for a video ...

Can you check the configuration screens in the respective web apps for each camera?
Yeah that should be a setting in your camera(s). Looks like your main stream FPS as well as the keys are all pretty poor.

Re: Using a tethered phone for Blue Iris network connection

Thoughts on installing something like Chrome Remote Desktop, Anydesk, or TeamViewer to have remote control access to the Blue Iris PC? Something like this might be the next best option, a bit of a hassle especially if you want prompt access, but it would/could ultimately work. I don't know for cert...

Re: FPS Drops

I think I would try the method of putting the server on the same vlan. That SHOULD be minimal cost - just time. You have tried so many options I think the only constant is the vlan hop through the Palo. As strong as my bias is against them, it certainly should be able to handle passing this traffic ...
