Re: Suggestion/Request: 3rd party add-ons tab in Blue Iris
Curious about this as well. Had an unmanageable amount of false positives with spiders and moths at night so I'm testing out the AI Tool with Deepstack server. It does a great job of identifying objects but is limited on alert functionality. A cleaner interface to this type of add on, that could ta...

Re: New to BI and Have Questions
It all depends on your cameras. many of the pigtails on Dahua cameras will require a slightly bigger hole than 3/4 so I have used the mounting boxes like https://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Junction-HAC-HDW1100-IPC-HDW1000-HDW4300S/dp/B01LYYKLRP so I only have to drill a 1/4" hole to run the RJ45 ...

Re: Longtime BI fan/customer - BI3, BI4, BI5 maybe?
I switched from the latest version of 4 to 5 a month or two ago, mainly to get push notifications to work again. I have no regrets as 5 seems to work just as well for me as 4 did. I turn off the autoupdate feature and give versions a while of seeing what issues others run into. I only update if it's...

Re: Upgrade?
I upgraded about a month ago or a little more to get my push notifications working again. I followed the upgrade steps Reddawg outlined at https://blueirissoftware.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=584 and everything was pretty much in the same place as 4 so really easy to use after the update. I a...

Re: Does anyone else use Camius cameras with BI5?
I have Dahua, Ubiquity, and a no name camera, I don't have any of that brand. Do they have a web interface for the cameras where you can configure the IP, NTP, credentials, and other settings? With BI I usually just get the cameras all setup via the built-in web interface of the cameras then use the...

Do you have a port open through your firewall for remote access? If so you may want to consider deleting that exception and setting up a VPN server on your firewall to connect to first for remote access.

Re: False Triggers from Lighting Changes - Advice?
The only way I could almost completely eliminate false alerts with snow or shadows was spending $50 a year for Sentry AI's smart alerts through BI. Now I only get alerts on people or vehicles on our driveway and people on most of the other cameras, it still records every motion detected it just does...

Re: Unifi Dream Machine issue
You're saying you could view Blue Iris remotely on while using the Netgear router via the app or web interface without ever forwarding a port in the router or using a VPN app like Open VPN to connect first? If so that's not how firewalls are supposed to work. With the Dream Machine you'd want to loo...

Re: Cameras not updating when all cameras are displayed
I think this would affect individual cameras as well as the overview screen but have you verified the pause button in the upper right isn't red (selected). I hit that when closing the interface on accident and it paused all the displays.
