Re: Repurpose old Hardware AMD

Old questions but no, Windows 10 pro/home doesn't make much of a difference unless you want to join to a domain. Pro also gives you some other business capabilities you're unlikely to use and BitLocker - which I like - but you probably don't need on a home desktop/server. The only other thing I see ...

Re: Panoramic cameras and Blue Iris

Gotcha.... completely makes sense now to use security screws, wrap a hardened cable around it, and configure BI to remotely operate a flame thrower. Oh install one of these roughly 8' away. Any would-be villain would have a 50-50 chance of removing the right one first. False Camera - totally legit.j...

Re: All Cameras No Signal after 5.2.9.7 update

Eek, it's probably something simple but I'm not sure what it is. I'm on 5.2.9.7 now and mine is running ok. You noted when reinstalling, after adding the forth camera you started getting all cameras as no signal. I assume that means the first 3 seemed to be just fine, and it wasn't until you added t...

Re: Panoramic cameras and Blue Iris

Purely curious, and it may be a silly question, but why the desire for an SD card slot? I honestly don't know what I'd be using one for with BI running.

Re: Memory leak and 5.2.3.2 repeatedly crashing in ntdll.dll

I can say that my VM runs very well and I've had no issues at all. The only limitation I've encountered is the artificial restriction to 8 cores per VM on the ESXi free license. My combined processors could provide 12 cores but I'll just have to use the remainder for other VMs. With the 8 cores curr...

Re: Memory leak and 5.2.3.2 repeatedly crashing in ntdll.dll

If it doesn't work out for you, I'd be happy to take that server off your hands. My installation is on a DL180 G6 with dual X5650's (no QS) and ESXi 6.5 as the base, Server 2019 as the BI guest OS. No complaints and working well, but I always like something new and shiny. Is it too late to change yo...

Re: Memory leak and 5.2.3.2 repeatedly crashing in ntdll.dll

I just posted in the other thread related to this but I'm wondering about the correlation of the older Windows editions and BI. This thread highlights Win7 and the other Server 2012 R2. While R2 is in "extended support", mainstream support has ended for both. I believe most users on this f...

Re: 5.2.9.5 x64 causing ntdll.dll fault on WS2012R2

Any idea if that would translate to other editions of Windows Server? I'm using Server 2019 and am on 5.2.9.6 currently. I'm not aware of any memory issues but perhaps I'm not the best at determining it either. I haven't noticed any noticeable changes in the amount of RAM being utilized. FWIW, I'm u...

Re: Network security: VLAN or Firewall

Hi everyone. I did not want to start a new discussion as this one is very similar to what I'm trying to do, plus its my first post here. I have BI and my cams on a TP-Link TL-SG1016PE Switch configured for Vlans 1,2,3. Vlan3 is my BI/cameras and vlan2 is my lan on a standard 24 port TP-link Switch....
