Re: Win10 vs Win Server

So while not an OFFICIAL answer... I would say go with Win Server then. I have seen posted in places that it's ideal to use W10 but I too had/have license access to Server2019 and it works great for me. Really the OS's are very similar other than additional capabilities baked into server, many of wh...

Re: NAS

therefore I don't expect Ken to allow anyone to work on porting it to any other OS. But you never know. Which is why it should be run in a VM under Linux, maybe even in a Docker container. ;) LOL, yeah, add that to the feature request list. If you really want to use Linux, maybe run a vm hypervisor...

Re: Data Usage

Interesting use case. Out of curiosity, have you opened a ticket with support on this? It seems like something up Ken's alley and honestly he would be the best to answer for a super lean installation. If you're only trying to fetch one or two images from each camera - on demand - once a day then it ...

Re: NAS

It has been asked many times over the years, presently there are no plans to port BI to anything other than the native Windows design it currently operates on. If a developer came along at some point that wanted to actually do the work and work with Ken, then maybe. But as it stands - the developmen...

Re: Current BI5 + Nvidia Quadro p620

I'm not sure that it helps a ton in this situation but since you brought up my system, I'm actually running on a DL180 G6 (so old) that I found on ebay for $200 - no hard drives. The DL180 was perfect for my situation because.... it does not use the 2.5" drives. It has 14x 3.5" SATA/SAS ba...

1. Not missing, it's moved into the new 'Edit Layout' mode. Once there, the option is in the right click menu.

Re: Current BI5 + Nvidia Quadro p620

So if you have the Quadro's sitting around, there's not much loss in trying them other than some spent time. In theory if they don't help you don't have to even take them back out (one maintenance window??) as you can just disable their use. If you're able to just update the BI software version to m...

In edit layout mode, right click on the camera area, then click on Show camera names.
Thanks! That looks much better (in my situation - to each their own)

Re: 5.5.0.7 Update

I noticed that addition in the UI3 interface but didn't say anything because I wasn't positive if it was new or not. I too would like the ability to remove that banner. I definitely see the need/reason for it but I intentionally add the device name as an overlay to not need that.
