Re: What are you using for cloud storage?

Too much data volume, too much bandwidth, not enough value add. Yep, constantly sending recorded video streams to a cloud provider is going to slam the connection. My NAS is well-hidden and locked up, I doubt anyone robbing the house is going to be able to find it or remove it. Plus, each of the ca...

Re: What are you using for cloud storage?

I don't use any cloud storage. I ran the numbers and realized that it was much less expensive in the long run to buy a low-cost NAS and dump everything to it. It's hidden and locked up so it (and the stored footage) can't be stolen. With that said, Onedrive storage of 1TB at $7/mo is a pretty good d...

Re: Looking for camera / lighting suggestions

A basic-but-usable PTZ dome-style camera will start around $100. Amazon has quite a few. Make sure it's water resistant (at least IP66 or 67) and runs PoE so you don't have to run additional cables just for power. If it's a large area you may want to consider an IR illuninator (which can also be pow...

Re: A way to receive 4 cameras

I'm confused by the scenario. If you have BI running at the location where the cameras are, then BI has an internal web server so that you can do nearly all of your day to day viewing via the web browser. That's what I was asking about, but I probably didn't communicate it clearly. Does the web ser...

I looked at Splashtop, but sadly it doesn't support Linux. I've been using Teamviewer but I'd really like a way to be able to view the cams using just a browser.

Re: A way to receive 4 cameras

Yes, each server instance needs a license but I have been told that if you call customer service they will sell you a second license at a discount. I don't want the 2nd PC to be a BI server, I just want to be able to view the cameras through a browser from wherever I am. Does BI provide anything li...

I have mine on a tamper switch, hooked to a thingy that has the words "FRONT TOWARD ENEMY" printed on it.

Re: A way to receive 4 cameras

I use the BI web interface for 99% of everything I do on my remote computer once it is initially set up and running in steady state. Does that require two licenses or just one? I want to (eventually) put my BI setup on the web so I can view the cameras remotely, but I'm not quite there yet. Am I go...

Re: Change/replace hard disk help

I don't know if this would work, but maybe try adjusting the storage limits so it thinks it has enough space (and stops complaining), then increase the limits back to where they were. I recently replaced my hard drive via cloning. Blue Iris 4 is now upset because it believes that the C: is over full...
