Re: Ryzen vs i9 for BI
I have an unanswered post on this forum asking if BI takes advantage of additional cores. Absolutely BI uses multiple cores. Why would you think it was limited to a single core? I just don't know :) Is there some max number of cores that it will utilize? Practically speaking is there any great adva...

Re: External Drive Recommendation
I used 5 of these: https://www.amazon.com/Red-10TB-NAS-Hard-Drive/dp/B0719498XY in my Synology NAS. They are made for NAS use (24/7) so I would expect them to last. Re: Ryzen vs i9 for BI
I have built 3 Ryzen machines this year - 2 Ryzen 5 3600's and a 2950X Threadripper. I have an unanswered post on this forum asking if BI takes advantage of additional cores. Re: My server PC
I am really new to cctv and BI. I have installed 2 4K outdoor cameras and plan to add 2 more. Initially I ran everything through my Synology disk station using their Surveillance package. Now I am concurrently running BI on my recently built desktop. On the NAS I have allocated 10tb of storage space...

Does BI v5 take advantage of multiple core CPU's?
I am brandy new to BI and am currently running it on a 16 core processor. If it doesn't really take advantage of all the cores I would prefer to install it on my backup machine in the basement (6 cores). It certainly isn't loading my desktop now but not sure how it is going to affect my video/photo ...

Re: pcpartpicker
It's a great website for comparing different builds that others have done. You can propose a build there soup to nuts and the site will let you know if you have any conflicts with your hardware picks. I have found it to be VERY helpful in the 3 builds I have done this year - 2 Ryzen 5 3600's and one...
