Re: Recommended hardware configuration for 43 cameras

Wow I think thats a pretty good response and I completely agree. Also to continue, I personally think using the UI3 interface for monitoring is pretty good, I've had no issues with it. You can set it to never time out so it can literally just be on the screen all day. I notice negligible impact to C...

Re: Web server with dual network cards

Odd, yes it sounds like you might need to just do some network troubleshooting/packet captures/wire shark, something like that. I have a very similar setup even including Unifi controller on my server, and it works great. On a very rare occasion I do have my server stuck trying to reach cameras out ...

Re: Hardware for 32 Cameras

Just use an Intel i7 or i9 /s sorry, I had to Confirming that CPU is going to be your heavily used resource (well and disk space with having 32 cameras). TimG's suggestion of using an online estimator is probably your best bet for predicting something like this. You'll definitely need to look to imp...

Re: BLANK RICH NOTIFICATIONS

I'm interested in a solution and/or the config that gets this to work because I've NEVER been able to get an image in my Android notifications (and not using IOS to compare).

True that....

Kinda curious if you don't mind asking, what brand/model camera is this?

Re: Best way to access BI5 remotely if I don't have a real world IP

@MATTS, which would you recommend the most given my situation? I looked into NGROK, it looks like the free version changes (randomly?) IP's every time, you have to go up to the $5 version to get a fixed IP. I am computer literate enough, but networking is fairly new to me. Thanks!! -Jake Reading ov...

Re: Password Length Limit

Don't know the answer to your question but just had to post - WOW a 40 character password that you can't change. I have some cameras that max out at 12 characters and don't allow longer. Thats crazy for a device that is inherently insecure anyway.

Re: Configuration for BlueIris

I think your system as noted would be just fine with the only tweak/exception that you may want a bit more RAM. BI in my experience doesn't require very much but RAM is cheap and I wouldn't put anything into production without at least 12GB.... 16 if you can swing it. Anything beyond that is gravy b...
