Recording direct to disk overlay questions

If I use the cameras overlays and not blue iris overlays for time and date and camera name will it show the overlays using direct to disk when I need to export a recording? I remember before version 5 it wouldn’t show it if you used the cameras to display the overlays. I would have to use blue iris ...

Geofence question

I just setup blue iris. I have the geofencing setup. I have the enter and exit set to hold and change to home or away. I get the notification saying I left the house but it’s not changing from home to away. Is it because I have it set to hold for the profile? Should it be temp or run? The help files...

Re: Privacy and Security Issues with Blue Iris Question

Basically using a NVR will make you enter the username and password to do anything but view live cameras. So it’s secure.
Blue iris is not. Anyone with a mouse can access everything.

Re: Privacy and Security Issues with Blue Iris Question

My point is I shouldn’t have to do all this. It should have some type of security build in. I mean this is recording and maintaining cctv. Should have security.

I used Blue Iris for 3 years. Switched to a NVR 5 months ago. Went back to Blue Iris. My concern is this. I leave my Blue Iris on a 42" monitor in my kitchen. Anyone can access Blue Iris and windows for that matter. When will Blue Iris lock the settings with a user name and password like a Dahu...
