Re: Bad Switch?

After a bit of escalation (and a heartfelt promise to burn them to the ground in the Amazon comments section), the seller agreed to do an out-of-warranty no-cost replacement. I'm still going to look for a better replacement switch and at this point I can't recommend BV-Tech gear under any circumstan...

Re: Bad Switch?

Definitely not a power issue due to the load- the switch, cameras and NAS only draw about 20 watts according to the UPS load meter. However....I spoke with the the manufacturer and they confirmed (read: admitted) that the switch does routinely fail 12 to 18 months after purchase, and it's due to a c...

Re: Substream unless triggered - almost perfect...

I decided long ago to do continuous recording so that I could not only see just before the trigger, but also be able to search for untriggered events ^^^^^THIS I've set almost all of my cams to 24/7 recording. They still trigger but just for purposes of marking events in the timeline. Triggers alwa...

Re: Find locked file

I had a stranded clip in my list that kept giving me locked errors. I just rebuilt the DB and it went away. That brings up something I've wondered about...how does one know that there's been a DB error without matching the files counts to the alerts and so on? I've never seen a DB error that I know...

Re: Bad Switch?

1. The diagram is showing the BI5 pc with two NICs, and the cameras on a different subnet to the router. Did you get it working ? 2. Where would your son's pc be on this diagram ? Plugged in to the router ? Crap, I couldn't even lay out a simple diagram right, lol. It was a brain-cramp. No, I don't...

Bad Switch?

I use a BV-Tech 18 Port PoE Switch and I suspect it's dying, causing some of my cameras to constantly disconnect and reconnect. But I'm not 100% sure. I have two hard-wired Microseven wide-angle cameras, and they've started to drop in and out. I've moved the cameras to different ports but still see ...

Re: FORCE quitting CGad Socket thread

What type is the front camera ? It's the RCA doorbell cam: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GN355R6/ I actually like it (it has a crazy tall field of view), but it connects/disconnects all the time non-stop. Sometimes it's good for days, other days it blips in and out 30 or 40 times. I keep mea...

Re: WGMG - Stupid Reviews of products...

Yep, I just shake my head when they give a bad review because of a delivery delay. Like, it arrived a day or two later than you expected because Amazon took longer than usual, and somehow that's the fault of the manufacturer ? "Works great and it's awesome but it came Thursday instead of Tuesda...

FORCE quitting CGad Socket thread

" FORCE quitting CGad Socket thread 18 330 403 " An error I noticed this morning. No recent changes to the system other than allowing Windows to do an update (I usually do updates manually about once a month). Running BI 5.4.4.1 (latest version). Researching this, it seems this issue goes ...
