Re: Fun Stuff

Got a lot of data to move to AWS? Call Amazon and ask for a Snowball . They'll send you what looks like a metal suitcase loaded with drives and a controller. aws-snowball.jpg A Snowball is a ruggedized data transport device that you load with your data. Then you FedEx it to AWS and they'll import in...

Re: Windows 10 slows down...

Different hardware, different applications, different usage...the only thing I see they have in common is Windows.

It may be that there's a new virus or bit of malware out there that isn't being detected by anything yet.

Re: 5.3.x

Files created in this way will no longer be playable on older releases of this software.
Hmmm, can't say I'm wild about that. I understand, but still...I guess it's time to export any previous recordings you want to keep.

Re: PTZ UI controls are grayed out and unresponsive

That's weird, the PTZ controls on the R2 cams I have all seem to work properly in BI. I'm not sure what to suggest at this point.

Re: Dewarping 180 degree camera? Feature request.

Mind if I ask which cameras (brand, model)? I've been thinking about a 180 camera for the North side of the house. So I know Blue Iris now supports 360 dewarping, but are there any plans to support 180 cameras? I have two 180s from amazon that would work out amazing if Blue Iris could dewarp them.

Re: Adding Cameras - Preview

I personally have all my cameras set with static IPs and maintain a spreadsheet matching device name to IP address to MAC address. Ditto. It's been a lifesaver for me a few times. Setting reserved IP addresses for the cameras in your router is highly recommended. After you have everything running a...

Power consumption

File under: Mildly Interesting I replaced the UPS on my BI PC with an APC Backups 1000, and it comes with a watt meter showing the load. Here are the typical loads I see running with and without BI. This is an 8-camera system with 3 recording continuously. PC running idle without BI loaded at all: ...

Without knowing your settings it's just a guess, but this is what the PTZ tab looks like for one of my R2s:
