Re: Blue Iris causes odd network interference

If the switches are fully managed can’t you just create a VLAN for the CCTV which should help to keep the traffic separated?

Re: Adding camera thats thru network repeater

You need to starting trying to ping the cam from various points, start at the repeater and work back to the BI box to determine which devices can actually see the cam.

Also what is the network layout and how is the repeater configured, is running it in bridged mode possible?

Re: Version 5 on Windows 7 PC

I’d definitely upgrade to W10 first just to get that over with. After upgrading and assuming it activates with no issues I’d then download the current version of W10 using Microsoft’s Media Creation tool to get it into a USB stick and then trash the upgrade and do a clean install of W10. Re: IP Cams gone from Blue Iris (and network)

Strange but maybe the cams have all reset to default? I’d unplug all the cams except 1 and then try get that cam on stream. Re: Error message received " " You must run as Administrator or start the service(2)" Please help.

It means the you either run the BI executable as an admin user or set BI up to run as a service where the service is set with the credentials of and admin user.

Re: "No signal" errors?

There’s an option in the camera config, something like interpret black and white picture as signal loss, not in front of my BI server so can’t check but look for it and disable it and see if it helps.

Re: How to install down-rev version?

You should be able to install the latest and then run the update to regress it. Never tried doing this but the bulk of the updates consist of the main exe and UI3.

Re: Compressing files

Have you tried compressing a video file? You’ll see little to no gain so hardly worth doing.
