A couple of questions:
How much space have you allocated to "Alerts" and what happens when that is full ? I didn't see a screen shot for that.
Of the used space on Drives D and the NAS, how much of this is the "Blue Iris" folder and files within?

Re: camera question
When I setup Blue Iris, I install Winaero tweaker which allows me to disable windows updates so I never have to deal with the risk that an update causes issues. You can always re-enable the updates if you want to periodically update windows but at least you don't have the risk that a Windows update ...

Re: Pre-Trigger Record time
I have noticed that many cameras I have bought recently come preloaded / configured so a Keyframe is only sent every 4 secs so I guess this is why BI has defaulted to 5 secs. I can see that the majority of casual users would not know to change the Keyframe rate (or know what they should set it to), ...

Re: Pre-Trigger Record time
Update on Ticket ... the 5 sec min pre-trigger record time is mandatory. The bug which may allow some profiles to escape this limit will be fixed in a future version so all profiles will apply the 5 sec min. The response indicated that many users were having problems when using direct to disc if the...

Re: Pre-Trigger Record time
I’ve been using blue iris almost 10 years I think since ver 3.66 and have never experienced an issue with short pretrigger times either. Have been managing a half dozen different installs at some times. However, I’ve only ever used hikvision cameras or same under another brand name.

Viewing hi res alert image in console or app
Apologize if this is a stupid question but I haven’t been able to find an answer …
How do I easily view a hi res alert image full screen in the console or app? Everything I can think of just launches playback of the clip. Maybe this isn’t possible?

Re: Version 4 to version 5 upgrade - what is involved?
Regarding the Ver 5 install, it will automatically pick up all the configuration and settings from your Ver 4 install without affecting the Ver 4 install if I recall correctly. I don't believe I had to manually copy anything over but I did have to go thru and adjust everything afterwards.

Re: 8 MP cameras on Amazon
I have been using the Panoeagle 8MP Full Color Night Vision Cameras and had no problems. These are a rebranded Hikvision ColorVu camera and are configured in Blue Iris as Hikvision Cameras (be wary that you may need to confirm/change the RTSP port number in the camera setup). The hardware does appea...

Re: Camera Settings FPS and iframe
You could try increasing the resolution of the sub-stream in the camera video configuration page. Going to a higher resolution sub-stream (but still much lower than the main stream), will still save CPU but might help with your motion detection issue.

Re: Version 4 to version 5 upgrade - what is involved?
It has been quite awhile since I did my version 4 to version 5 upgrade so forgive me if my memory is in error ... I believe the advice was to install version 5 on the version 4 machine, it will create a new install leaving the version 4 in place then you can test and configure version 5 before remov...
