I guess I WAS unknowingly referring to the layout......I just hadn't been keeping up with changes in the various updates and hadn't realized that was different. I figured out how to do what I needed though, but thank you so much for your reply.

After dragging a window outside the application, I could always right click on that window and choose "close" to get it to again be contained within the application. Is that option gone now? & if so, what's the alternative to perform the same thing?

Thanks everyone. I'm working on tinkering with the router settings now. I'll let you know if I have any success/improvements.
