Re: Geofence

One additional thought. Do you have something running that checks your Home IP and updates your DDNS. Something needs to keep track of when that IP hcanges periodically and update it. For example, you can have a couple of your cameras perodically contact your ddns and update the IP address.

Re: Geofence

One other thing I will ask just to make sure something is not getting overlooked. Most everyone uses wifi at home on their phones. However, in cases where you do not have that turned on I have seen BI geo-fencing not behave as normally. It usually will work, but does not follow the fence s accuratel...

Re: Geofence

The other thing to check is your radius (on your app). The default is 50 m and I think that is too close to the house. I suggest either 200 or 400 m. Close enough to not leave you too exposed but far enough that it does not get confused.

Re: Geofence

I have geofencing working on BI 5. In order for it to recognize you leaving and returning you need to have a method for it to stay in contact with your phone remotely. There are several ways I can think of. You can go thru the webserver and setup remote, use a DDNS server account of your own. I am n...

Re: Unable to get profiles to switch in Geofencing

I believe you want to "set profile" and use the away profile for exit and the home profile for entrance. As opposed to a schedule. I have a Home profile which has most of my cameras disarmed, an Away profile which arms all of them, and an out-of-hours profile which arms most of them with d...

Ok Thanks much. I don't anticipate going back to V4 but I like to be prepared. This should give me all I need to know .

Re: V4 to V5 Upgrade Procedure

Thanks for this info. Good thing I asked. How long can you run V5 with V4 installed just to ensure everything is working hours, days a week? I would prefer to test it for at least a few days or more before I remove V4. SO how painful is it to roll back to V4 if it is becomes necessary. Othrewise it ...

V4 to V5 Upgrade Procedure

I have decided the time is right to go forward with V5 upgrade. I am currently running V4. Is there a documented procedure on how to accomplish this with the least amount of fallout. I looked in the V5 manual and did not see anything. I would like to know what to expect to allow me to have a backup/...
