Re: CPU overload

With the cpu % reductions that you now have, I think you should leave it as it is and back up all of the settings immediately :o My D1 sub stream is set at 512 Kb/S, but it is VBR rather than CBR. In my previous post, you can see that it was actually running at 64.4 Kb/S. Can anybody tell us the te...

Re: CPU overload

Thanks. Also what causes the cameras in BI5 to periodically flash as green screens for a few seconds?

Re: CPU overload

Thank you for the guidance. I finally got it to work. Turns out, it was actually an issue where I had selected the incorrect Amcrest camera type/profile in a specific set of camera(s) and that was resulting in high CPU because it was using the wrong profile to make those camera connections. Oddly en...

Re: Sub Streams

Actually I was able to identify that the CPU usage only increases when I attempt to add sub streams to any of my wifi Amcrest 1080P cameras. Perhaps the added bandwidth of transmitting multiple streams causes an issue with BI5.

Re: Sub Streams

Thanks. I did just that with the newest BI5 release. Sub streams are used but CPU usage is skyrocketing rather than being reduced.

Re: CPU overload

Sub streams are the way to go with BI now that the bugs are out. I run an i7-4790, 22 cameras at 15fps, no hardware acceleration, averaging 16-18% CPU usage. How did you get it to work? I went from 8 1080P cameras with CPU at 30%; after enabling sub streams my CPU jumped over 80%. Sent from my iPho...

Re: Sub Streams

Have encountered the same issue. When I attempt to use sub streams my CPU climbs rather than drops. Running 5.2.3.7 x64.

Re: hardware Acceloration

Thanks for your help. So I am running the latest 5.2.3.7 x64 release on an Intel Core i5-9500 w 16 GB RAM. It runs at 18% CPU and 1.61GB RAM. I have my hardware accelerated decode (restart cameras) set to Intel option. Limit live preview rate is 1 fps. Each of my cameras is set to a max rate of 15 f...

Re: hardware Acceloration

Oddly since enabling substreams, my CPU usage on the BI5 server has jumped from about 30% to 75%+! Even with Intel hardware virtualization (also tried Intel + VPP option). Yikes. Despite my substream setup being lower resolution, same frame rate, same i-frame. What would cause this?

Re: Memory leak and 5.2.3.2 repeatedly crashing in ntdll.dll

The Xeon E-2224 CPU in the HpE G10+ is 4 cores and 4 threads. No hyper threading. So not sure how well this machine would fare with BI5 and the multiple cameras I’m currently using. I’m trying to unravel this ntdll.dll corruption issue on my dedicated WS2012R2 box so that it can be repurposed as a d...
