Re: Migrated BI to new Server but license?

I was running 5.3.1.6, if I get an active support license, can I upgrade to the latest from BI or only within the 5.3 release track?

Confused

Re: Migrated BI to new Server but license?

I agree as my old 5.3.1.6 build did everything I needed, except for the occasional web server binding issue. I don't need all the new enhancements, which is why I didn't upgrade.

Hopefully someone at BI can give this a thought. Or maybe the number of people migrating servers is small ?

Re: Migrated BI to new Server but license?

Indeed it does. The process of migration was pretty straight forward. I'll figure out what to do with this part. Love the software, great value for a long term usage. Prboably will just pay to get the latest and avoid downgrades to current install.

Re: Migrated BI to new Server but license?

Thanks for the reply TimG. Just want to confirm. I can pay $35 for support, which then means I can upgrade to 5.8 ? Hopefully fixing some bugs that I occasionally get (like the web server binding IP changing) -- Although I don't need any of the AI or other features past 5.3 -- Is this possible for a...

Re: Confirm Backup Method - Single click?

Thanks Mike. This helps a lot.

Curious why the DB folder needs migrating (creating) - Is it so BI thinks it's the same machine?

Re: Confirm Backup Method - Single click?

Thanks Mike.

Yes, i'm building a new PC and plan to migrate my set up to that new system.

The number of camera's and a docker requirement for another app. has the current system of 3 years being overworked.

Re: Building a new PC - GPU helps?

Thanks for all of the interesting discussion. I'm not using CPAI although just reading about it, I may buy a Google TPU and try My question is this If I get a AMD Ryzen 7 with 16 core / 32 thread, will BI be able to properly leverage the multi cores? if I have 15 camera's set up at 1080p/2k. but at ...

Must it be Intel? Would an AMD CPU and a dedicated GPU help?
