Re: Supported Doorbell Cameras

It does work with BI, but I can't figure out how to use two way audio and good alerts with BI. Any pointers would be great. When these people only post how wonderful it is, but don't come back to explain to you how they configured it in BI, it looks like an advert. There's not much point in me dire...

Re: BlueIris and Analog Cams

I think it's more likely to be an incompatibility between the old and new cctv systems. I was surprised to get my old Picolo Pro cards and analogue cams working with BI, but they will stay connected until I move house. My suggestion is to ignore it, and carry on with your plan to update your cameras.

Re: How do I transfer a Blue Iris licence?.

It is usually done by deactivating the licence in the present BI installation settings, and re-activating it on the new pc, but clearly that is not possible here. There may be a way if you have a backup of that pc, but I think an email to support may be the best way to resolve this. Send them as muc...

Re: BI Records Person, but not a Moving Broom...?

I don't remember if BI4 had the ability to check existing video files for trigger action, but it can be very useful when fine tuning motion detection like this. In BI5, from the main Gui, you open a video, and right click on it to "Test run video through motion detector". Give that a try and let us ...

Re: New user multi cam multi location

The licensed BI5 for each location makes sense if you are recording locally at each place, and you could use another BI5 from home, or maybe use Teamviewer ?

Does anybody here have experience of using a multi-licence system and how to set it up and view it from a remote BI5 installation ?

Re: 2 NIC's for BI Server

For me, the web security came first, as I had seen the foreign log in attempts in the BI log. I presently have OpenVpn running on my Asus router (Merlin firmware), and that works very well with my android phones when away from home. I had previously attempted to set up OpenVpn on the BI server which...

Re: 2 NIC's for BI Server

I really like the idea of adding a separate NIC just for BI I simply added another NIC, named it "CCTV Ethernet", and gave it a static IP of 10.0.0.1. I then plugged a POE ethernet switch into that, and went to the first of my working Blue Iris IP cameras, and while still connected to the original ...

Re: Snapshots rather than Motion & Over Allocation Errors

Can you tell us what type of external drive it is ? We should be able to figure out how to remove the drive - assuming it's out of warranty ! The worst external drive that I had was a 5TB Toshiba Usb3 drive. It went flaky after a year, but it had only ever been used for a few hours for backups. I re...
