Re: Newbie Camera Recommendation

I for one would not recommend Amcrest. I've has (2) 2M wireless cameras for about 4 years now and honestly I've never been able to keep them online for more than 2 weeks at a time EVER! I have to cycle power on the camera sometimes every day, sometimes once a week, but never less frequent that once ...

Re: Web view on port 81 weird flashing

I adjusted my key frame to 15, no change so far. It looked to me from what I read that this can lighten the load on your server processor but I’m not understanding how this affects remote viewing. I’m an HVAC Controls guy and admittedly not an IT guy by any means.

Re: Web view on port 81 weird flashing

I have a setting that says limit live preview rate to.... and it was set by default to 30 FPS. I changed it to 20 fps. Is this the correct parameter and is 20 better?

Re: Web view on port 81 weird flashing

I’ll check the key frame, I’m not familiar with that setting or it’s function. That’s not a setting I would have changed from default. I can see a flicker when viewing on my server but the issue is much more pronounced remotely. This is the first that I looked at the captures that I posted, it reall...

Re: Natural light to IR

By camera has been doing that for years, everytime the IR lights fire, it alerts... that and when the neighbor backs in his driveway and shines his headlights on my shed. I just reloaded my BI day before yesterday, not sure what I did, but I haven't had an alert like that since. I did change my sens...

Re: Upgrade to 5 -- Was it Worth It?

My V4 was so unreliable I'm afraid to update. If I hear that its more stable and doesn't drop offline every time there's a windows or BI update, then I'm in. Seriously, my BI hasn't been online for more than 2 weeks at a time for 2-3 years! If its not BI, its Amcrest dropping out.

Re: Web view on port 81 weird flashing

I noticed today that my Amcrest camera flashes every 10 seconds when viewing remotely with Tacit Viewer. It has no color flash like yours, but every 10 seconds it looks like it starts to pixelate or go out of focus then clears up. I'm using port 8081 and my wireless run is no more than 20'. I dont h...

Re: Blue Iris V4 can't hit server remotely

Believe me, it's been 2-3 years of struggle! So.... I got and email from tech support today asking for my license info and asking questions about firewalls and canyouseeme.com, all of which were in line. Magically my remote started to work and it started using a program called Tacit Vision! I have n...

Re: Blue Iris V4 can't hit server remotely

As of today I have access using a program called Tacit View. I think this was put in place by tech support, very greatful to them for this BTW. I’ve had issues with BI since my original install, now on a fresh install maybe it will be better. My Amcrest cameras crashed again today, no shock there. I...
